Vanishing Dark Web Marketplace!!

The Dark Web Marketplace, the world's largest black market, has closed. Gizmodo quoted officials as saying that Europol Coordinated International Operations had taken the web platform offline.

The German authorities have arrested an Australian national believed to be the operator of the illegal site. In addition, 20 dark web hosted servers have also been seized.

According to Europal, Darkmarket, which had 500,000 users before closing, had a turnover of 320,000. The Dark Web Marketplace was rife with drugs and stolen credit card fraud, as well as malware and viruses. Europal estimates that the site is currently trading at 140 million euros which used to happen in Bitcoin and Monero.

European authorities plan to use a darkmarket server seized from Ukraine and Moldova to investigate buyers and sellers using the site for criminal transactions.

According to a report in The Guardian, a major investigation into the web hosting company CyberBunker has revealed the dark market. The cyberbunker (originally housed in the former NATO bunker) has been used in the past for The Private Bay and WikiLeaks servers.

An example from the Darkmarket case would be an important starting point for research on other illegal sites. Wall Street Market is another dark web marketplace which ended similarly during the course of European research. Other sites, such as Empire Market, have disappeared altogether. Similarly, the Alphabet and The Silk Road have become anonymous years ago after government agencies aggressively landed.
